When Amitabh and Dharmendra sung Yeh dosti hum nahin todenge todenge dam magar tera saath na in Sholay, it marked the beginning of a new friendship which has existed in Bollywood since ages.

We take a look at some of the long lasting friendship stories of Bollywood that are scattered across how they formed these mutual admiration societies and the trials and tribulations it went through.

First off we start with one which may just be the oldest of friends in Bollywood they are none other than Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Raj Kapoor. Their friendship has been eternal and as if that was not enough Harishikesh immortalized their bond with the film Anand. When he was in the making of this film he had said, "The friendship between Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan in my film Anand was based on my friendship with Raj Kapoor. I couldn't imagine a life without him, we were that close." So if any one has watched the film they sure know what a fabulously fantastic relationship they shared.

Next on our list is Amitabh Bachchan who has made many friends along the way in his career which spans for almost three decades.

But this one is between the Big B and Vinod Khanna and in spite of many ups and down and personal upheavals they remained friends.

Karan Johar and Dino Morea, yes folks guess not many people know about their friendship but it seems to go a long way. Dino who is by profession a model later entered the film industry and met Karan here.

By the looks of their friendship it looks like they have been friends since childhood and know each other very well. Sometime ago Karan Johar agreed to be in an ad for Asian Paints and the main reason behind this was that the ad was being made and shot by the company owned none other than his friend Dino Morea.

So thanks to their bond it wasn't too difficult for Dino's agency to settle upon a star for the advertisement.

Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, the two of them made a lovely team and were pretty good together. But their friendship was a bumpy ride during the initial stages. It was at the time when Sanjay was shooting for his film Khalnayak and he thought that Salman was responsible for the rumours that were floating around linking him with the female co-star in the same film.

And guess who the lovely co-star was? Madhuri Dixit…

However this was later sorted out and the two bonded again, once Sanjay realized that Salman was not the gossiping kind of person. And maybe their similar brush with the law helped them in cementing their friendship.

Kareena Kapoor and Amrita Arora have been friends since childhood. Besides growing up together they are both working together in the film industry today. Their friendship has been one which has lasted the test of time and they still stick to each other.

And last heard Kareena is promoting Amrita by asking her producers to take in all her movies. The recent being in Golmaal Returns. "Yes, I am doing Golmaal Returns. It's the first time Kareena and I will do a film together.

Bebo is paired opposite Ajay Devgan while I am paired opposite Arshad Warsi, Amrita Arora says "It will be fun working with my best friend and we are looking ahead to spending quality time with each other."
