The rains are finally here and just everyone, including Bollywood's best stars are letting their hair down as they drive down the beach to munch on some bhuttas and savour some bhajiyas.

But while they are at it, here's tracking down some stunning hairdos over the summer that left a sizzling impression on us.

Vidya Balan - Getting sporty

On television, she was the curly haired geeky girl, but since her debut in Bollywood, Vidya Balan has always opted for the 'plain mane' image. Be it Parineeta, Lage Raho Munnabhai and Hey Babyy or even her off-screen appearances. There was little trace of experimentation when it came to hair styles even though her characters kept changing all the while. But luckily for her fans, it was this summer that finally saw the star heading straight to the salon for chopping off quite some tresses. With her new sporty look, not only does Vidya look a good five years younger, but even compliments Shahid Kapoor, her latest co-star and the young heartthrob of millions.

Preity Zinta – Doing the 'wig' gig

One of the brave and outgoing actresses in B-town, Preity has never shied away from trying on anything and everything that catches her fancy. But with this one, she really beat all her past records. The actress who is the brand ambassador for Chopard was seen in a short crop for the company's promotional event at the Cannes festival.

And just when everyone was stunned with the lady's time management considering she was tied-up with the IPL, Preity bowled a sixer. It turned out that the dimpled actress had not had a hair cut but was just donning a really neat wig to go in with the '30's look theme' for the evening.

Scissors or no-scissors, but considering the amount of eyebrows she managed to raise with this one, Preity's act definitely deserves a mention.

Priyanka Chopra - Trimming tresses

Synonymous with the gorgeous girl next door image, Priyanka Chopra prefers a low-on-maintenance and high-on-comfort hair style. Even Sunsilk could not get Piggy Chops to change her opinion when they signed her as their brand ambassador. But when the reason is love, everything else takes a backseat.

And so, Priyanka coloured her hair not once, but twice in the colour of romance – red – for boyfriend Harman's debut Love Story: 2050 within a span of few weeks.

The outcome was of course severely damaged locks that required quite some trimming and subsequently, a stunning looking Priyanka with a multi-layered mane.

Neetu Chandra – Getting the fringe fever

She may be a few films away from joining the list of tinsel town's top actresses but when it comes to following what's in vogue with the rest of B-town, there is no stopping Neetu Chandra.

After braving the heat in Delhi and Bhopal for her forthcoming films Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye and Kusharprasad Ka Bhoot, Neetu decided it was makeover time once back in Mumbai.

Opting for a fringe in the front and soft steps on the sides, Neetu Chandra may not have been too successful at escaping the heat with this one. However, she has definitely ensured enough eyeballs with her new chic bombshell avatar.
