 Go cyber, get married
Getting married? Have just entered motherhood or fatherhood? Or got any other big occasion in the family? Let technology help you make it an exciting affair, an affair to remember, cherish and to share. And you can start it all by creating a website for any occasion. Make your celebration a big cyber deal. Upload your baby's pictures. Create an album for her: her first few days, month, birthday, other milestones… If you want to create your wedding site, have someone post a dramatic story of how you met, how you fell in love and much more. Remember, your wedding day, your kid's birth... Aren't these some of the biggest days of your life? Then why not announce your big day to your family and friends in a unique and personalised.

Share your picsUpload unlimited photos to your site and add funky titles. Share your videos with your website visitors. Maybe you have a video clip of the proposal or just an embarrassing clip that could win you $10,000 on America's funniest home videos. From elegant to fun, you can create a perfect website theme to match your own style. Websites like www.ewedding.com offer huge selection of themes to create wedding websites. Most themes are available in a wide variety of colours and designs. You can further add spark to them by adding your own dash of creativity.

e-inviteNeed that glitzy invite with mithai in silver salvers? One can achieve the same effect with an e-invite (You can hand out salvers later!). Also, there can be nothing worse for family and friends then to get lost while trying to locate your wedding or party events. So how about posting directions on your site to the location of your sangeet, stag party, mehndi and haldi ceremonies etc? Use maps and directions page to upload text directions, graphics and even links to help them find the venues. Same can be done for other family occasions too. It is also handy to refer people to a download link where you could have large images (maps) for download, which the guests can take printouts of. You could also make PDFs or Word docs containing directions in a printer-friendly format available for download.

Make a wish-listYou can line up the gifts as well. Choose the store you'd like to source your stuff from. Mention the things you already have bought. Post all these on your website, making it easier for people who will perhaps buy you presents. And why not? It's good if the presents match your taste and needs. No one would like to give a gift which the receiver would never use. Don't worry if it's a good etiquette to include this with your invitations, everyone can find this information online.

Honeymoon travelsDare to share the plans for your honeymoon? Everyone wants to know where you're going and how long you're staying. Use the special honeymoon page to post a photo, description and even link to a website for more information. Let's say what you really want is a dream honeymoon. There are a number of travel sites that help you break up your holiday cost into Rs 500-10,000 gift vouchers. Post this on your website and you'll be surprised at the number of takers.
