 Five hot gizmos for women
A woman's handbag is no-man's land - not unoccupied land between two opposing forces -but literally, a place in which no man should land. So shhh, here's a sneak peak into a lady's handbag: Keys…check. Purse...check. Hair-tie or other accessory to hold your hair back…check. Tiny notebook to jot down random things…I will stop before I tresspass into dangerous territory. As a woman, I'm not about to open pandora's handbag and reveal any more secrets. But as a technoholic, I can tell you what no woman should leave home without. Whether you're a guy, a girl, or still confused, you probably don't need to be told not to leave home without your phone. We'd all probably rather eat vada pav for breakfast, lunch and dinner than leave our phones at home. But here's something special for the ladies.

Sony Ericsson W350i Designed in the spirit of womanhood, the W350i demonstrates that technology can be fashionable. It's slim, light, has a half-flip over the keypad and is fully Wi-Fi-enabled. With a camera and a music player to complete the package, this is a keeper for women who want to be tech savvy without reprogramming their thumbs. At Rs 6500, it's a steal! In its lusty turbo red version, it'll stand out even in the biggest of bags.

iPod NanoToday, no woman's handbag is complete without an iSomething, and eye-makeup doesn't count. I'll admit, the apple empire can be confusing and intimidating to navigate: so many choices, even more colours - where do you begin? But now that Apple-isation is the new globalisation, you're going to have to take the plunge sooner or later. Whether you're a first-time buyer or a long-time convert, the 8GB iPod Nano is the perfect PMP, or say personal music player, (don't worry about the acronyms), for a female tote. With 2,000 songs and a capacity to store 7,000 photos, Rs 8,200 is very reasonable.

HeadphonesMumbai is a city of sounds, most of which I don't want to hear on my way to work at 8am in the morning, ok fine 10am, but the sounds are still the same! If there's even the slightest chance of replacing the constant 'beep beep' with an occasional 'balle balle', well ladies, you don't want to forget those headphones; preferably noise-canceling or sound-isolating. They do come with your PMP too. However, I would strongly suggest investing in an extra pair because headphones disappear faster than candy at work and you'll soon find your ears bare. A decent pair of backup headphones will not cost you more than Rs 400 but if you're addicted to apple like I am, you'll have to dig a little further into your pockets to pay the Rs 2,000 for another pair of headphones.

Transcend pen drive If you're looking for something that screams 'independent, tech savvy woman,' than this is your gadget. If you walk into work with a 4GB Transcend pen drive, you will be taken seriously and you will be noticed. It's like being the only person in your area of desks with a stapler - your value to the company skyrockets. Owning a pen drive is empowering - no more lunches with the guy with oily hair in exchange for his pen drive!
