In India, currently WorldSpace braodcasts programmes from Singapore. The satellite radio hosts a variety of content, including regional Indian languages. With the entry of new players, competition is surely to hot up for WprldSpace which may in turn bring down subscription prices.
A large part of WorldSpace Radio content is for India is made locally. Some of the local language radio channels available are Farishta, Gandharva, Spandana, RM Radio, Sparsha and Shruti.
Besides in-house content, WorldSpace Radio also has tie-ups with a variety of content providers.
