 Laptop Batteries
Laptop batteries come in many designs and packages as well are specified by the maker, of what kind of Batteries they are using. These Laptop Batteries give power to your Laptop when you are not using Power outwardly. The duration and the backup time of these Laptop batteries depend on the chemistry involved in the make of these Laptop and as well the handling practice of the users. The Chemistry of these Laptop Batteries is given by the Laptop manufacturers in their user manual. One knows how to go through the user manual and can obtain the chemical structure of their Laptop batteries.
The kinds of laptop batteries are endless. Several examples are as follows: IBM ThinkPad Ni-MH, Compaq Presario R3000/4000 CA/CL Li-Ion, and Dell D620 Li-Ion, simply to name some. {Each of these Laptop batteries} are structured for a particular system having some features/shape/size. Previously most of the Laptop batteries were made of Nickel Cadmium (NiCad), which is a structure of weighty metals. But because it was poor in its Energy to Load ratio it shortly became obsolete and lot of manufactures of Laptops switched over to Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride). More over the NiCad batteries wasn't eco-friendly and their dumping causes damage to the surroundings as well. These Ni-MH batteries showed an better Energy to Load ratio than NiCad batteries, yet again it showed the dilemma of Memory Losses and so most of the manufacturers again shifted themselves from Ni-MH to Li-Ion which we still use today. These Li-Ion batteries showed the better Battery backup features and longer duration as well. Owing to this many of the Laptop manufacturing companies like HP, Dell, Sony Toshiba etc shifted themselves from Ni-MH to Li-Ion Batteries. These Li-Ion batteries have a easy charging capabilities and as well discharges very slowly, thus giving better Power Backup, additionally its Energy to Load ratio is very much less which makes the Laptop as a whole much lighter than earlier Laptops.
The next thing on which the duration of the battery and as well their Backup time depends on the handling practice of the user. There are many of the measures for using the laptops and when they are followed, these batteries will have a long duration and as well Backup time. One thing to be mentioned is that never attempt to use these Laptop in very cool place and in very hot place, this is so, because these batteries will discharge rapidly when used under such circumstances. So everytime try to use them in normal room temperatures. This will assist them to discharge smoothly and keep powering your Laptop for long.
