I own Compaq laptop -Presario V 5000. I use Tata Indicom Plug 2 Surf (USB modem) for the internet as I travell a lot. Lately, I noticed that the spped of the internet is very slow. Some of colleagues suggested to go for the upgradation of the processor.
Below given are the configuration of my laptop:

Compaq laptop -Presario V 5000MS Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Manufactured and Supported by Genuine Intel (R) CPU
T2050 @1.60 Ghz
1.60 Ghz, o.99 GB of RAM
can anyone guide me what type of upgradation I can opt to increase the internet speed

I dont suggest u to upgrade ur Laptop or Processor. You shud take a better Internet/Broadband connection. That can only resolve ur issue + a very good antivirus and firewall solution.

These Plug to surf is good for nothing they just provide Dialup connection and most of the time their network remain down or congested.
