Post  Full History Search
Image
Apple has added a new "Full History Search" for Top Sites and Cover Flow. The feature lets users search for Web pages or sites directly from the browser. Users can flip through minimal or full-page previews during searches.

To find a page, all a user needs to do is enter his search term(s) in the Search History field in Top Sites. There is no need to remember page titles or complex URLs. Instead, pages can be found by searching for text that appeared anywhere on the page.

The Smart Search Field is also integrated with Google Suggest. This means the moment a user starts typing, the field suggests search strings.

Another new feature is the Smart Search Field, which serves to recommend relevant searches while presenting them in an easy-to-read list.

As a user begins to type an address in the address field, Safari automatically completes it with the most likely match -- called the Top Hit -- and highlights it. In case, the Top Hit is not the site he is looking for, he can check the list of relevant suggestions, drawn from his bookmarks and browsing history, that Safari displays.

This is another key addition: the multi-touch pinch gesture support on newer Macbooks to engage its full-page zoom feature, which allows users to zoom-in and out of web pages to get a closer look.

Users can Zoom in or out on web content using keyboard shortcuts, multi-touch gestures, or the Zoom toolbar button for more comfortable reading. Images and graphics scale up while the text remains razor sharp, keeping the web page layout consistent as a user zooms. To add the Zoom button to the toolbar, a user simply needs to choose Customise toolbar from the View menu and drag the button onto his toolbar.

The browser beta includes a powerful set of tools that make it easy to debug, tweak, and optimise a website for peak performance and compatibility. To access them, a user needs to turn on the Develop menu in Safari preferences.
